Eating with the seasons!

Ever pondered why summer boasts an abundance of fresh, light fruits, while winter offers hearty veggies perfect for soups and roasts? It’s not random – foods that take longer to grow are more warming. Eating seasonally isn’t just a nostalgic nod to pre-supermarket days. It aligns with our nutritional needs, supports local farmers, and enriches our diet with variety. Furthermore, local, seasonal produce is fresher, tastier, cheaper, and packed with more nutrients.

Embrace seasonal eating: Β potatoes, kumara, sweet potato, kale, kohlrabi, broccoli, cauliflower, pumpkin, beans, brussels sprouts, avocados, apples, pears, luscious sweet strawberries and Queensland grown citrus are some of the excellent winter produce in season now and available from our growers.

Obviously the best place to indulge in seasonal shopping is at our Farmers Market. Not only does our market showcase seasonal produce, but it also fosters a sense of community and build strong relationships between our growers and you, our customers
