What Exactly is a Farmers’ Market?
A farmers’ market is a food-focused event where farmers and specialty food producers sell local, seasonal food and associated value-added specialty products to customers.
At Palm Beach and Miami Farmers’ Markets, a number of our stallholders are certified organic and biodynamic producers, while many of the value-added producers also cater for specific dietary needs, including vegan, dairy free or gluten free. Our first priority has always been to provide a safe space for local farmers to sell products from their own farms, while additional space is provided for local food artisans.
For farmers and producers, our farmer’s markets offer:
• Direct access to consumers from the local South East Queensland community
• The opportunity to generate a viable income
• An opportunity to establish relationships with customers and get direct consumer feedback
• A marketplace to test new products
Our markets were established to support sustainable food production, ethical practices and local family farms. To trade at our markets, stallholders must be local growers or food producers.
